1. Brief Introduction
A heat exchanger is a system used to transfer heat between a source and a working fluid. Heat exchangers are devided into air coolers and oil coolers. The air cooler is used on the stator of a large water turbine, in order to avoid the damage of the machine caused by the excessive temperature of the stator due to friction during operation. Therefore, air coolers are arranged around the stator so that the discharged hot air is cooled and converted into cold air, thereby reducing the temperature of the stator. An oil cooler is used on the bearings and it acts like an air cooler.
